The foundation for medical help "FOUNDATION FOR FIGHT AGAINST CANCER" (FLIC) was founded on 04.05.1999 .

The foundation is a Romanian juridical person, non-governmental and not –for profit, established by the following founding members: Dema Sorin - physician, Dema Alis - physician, Preda Alexandru - physician, Laslau Veronica - technician, Rinjea Puiu - architect, Stepan Ilie - musician, Schinteie Gheorghe -journalist.                         

Purpose of the foundation is:

- ensure oncological medical assistance;

- ensure drugs, health education and oncological prophylaxis;

- editing of books, brochures, organising symposia with oncological profile;

- collaboration with foundations from medical area, especially in the oncologycal area abroad and inland;

- ensure apparatuses for clinical and paraclinical investigations and for treatment;

- setting up of medical units, laboratories, policlinics, hospitals and ensure them with apparatuses, instruments, sanitary materials, drugs through donations and sponsorships, from abroad and inland;

- ensure the vehicles and apparatuses for the activity, including rescue vehicle with necessary apparatuses for sick people transportation, through donations and sponsorships, from abroad and inland;

- help other societies to fulfil medical projects;

- organising and sending the medical staff to training courses, conferences, congresses inland and abroad;

- follow up and registration the patients with cancer and introducing them in a national program for fighting against this illness;

- performing screening programs in order to a sooner trace out of the cancer at the population with a higher risk of being ill;

-  health education  for population through mass media with the purpose to find out the risk of being taken ill and to take part in periodical oncological controls, in order to an early trace out of cancer, when the chances of getting well are higher.
