In October 1999, we had two meetings with Mr. Couschner, head of UNMIC in Pristina, insisting upon provision of conditions for freedom of movement of the people in ghettos, and this action resulted in the opening of the bus line Orahovac-Kosovska Mitrovica. In conjunction with the American-Serbian Aid Board of Detroit, two actions were taken (in April and June 2000) regarding distribution of pecuniary aid to the most imperiled displaced families that have found their shelter in the region of Belgrade. Such pecuniary aid was granted to 45 families. In December 2000, in conjunction with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the implementation of the Information Bulletin project started, and the continuation was further supported by the Danish Refugee Council and ECHO (EC Humanitarian Organization). Moreover, a permanent action is taken regarding collection and distribution of children’s magazines and books dedicated to children and young people, which are being given to them on the occasions of our visits to the Serbian enclaves in Kosovo & Metohija.
